:: Saturday, August 14, 2010 :: My First Baseball Game

Yesterday morning, the school director sent an all-campus e-mail saying that he'd been given 14 free Astros tickets and they were up for grabs. As I am not a baseball fan, I did not jump at the chance. Come staff shout-outs that afternoon, there were still tickets left. My grade-level chair "roped" me into going - I use roped very loosely since basically, he said he just got convinced into going and I should go too - last year, we were usually the only members of the 6th grade team who go to staff events. I use roped because that's the term my team-teacher used last year since I was always the one to volunteer to stay after school for Super Wall Street (a system in place at the school for those who fail to get their homework done). I said that I was after school anyway and this way, got paid for the time too. Instead of "roped," the GLC puts it in a more positive "whatever it takes" tone.

Anyway, so few of the staff end up actually at the game. It really is about the company and not the game itself. Had good company. The Pirates were up for most of the game but ultimately the Astros won. It was actually my very first baseball game.

That is all.
